Accommodations
Each room is unique, and some larger than others with a kitchenette and living area. You set your own code for the key pad, so you feel completely secure. The spa-like decor and weathered wood in the rooms, which are each creatively named with a coastal theme. You’re tempted to stay inside for the whole stay, but then you’d miss the ample porch areas and rocking chairs. Grab a glass of wine and a good book and listen to the birds. When you’re ready to venture out to a more social atmosphere, wander downstairs past the oyster shell wall, where you’ll find on-site dining and drinks.
Day Dining
Eat Drink Love offers delicious fresh lunch and catering options—delicious dips, seasonal charcuterie, salads, and sandwiches. You can dine inside the bright, farm-to-table atmosphere, or you can get it to-go, just in case you feel like riding your bike to the beach to enjoy the view while you eat. Or, walk to the water and dream about which of the charming homes along the way you wish you lived in as you stalk the real estate market. (Guilty.) See their full lunch menu here.
Drinks and Dinner
Now. Let’s talk about the The Wilbur. The intimate, incredibly well-stocked craft bar has a modern vintage vibe (Is that a thing)? Just when you’re wondering how there is room for dining, you see the shelf/door that opens to a speakeasy space complete with Al Capone’s face on the wall. For drinks, we started with the Blueberry Smash. It’s a refreshing mix of Mississippi’s own Cathead Honeysuckle vodka, soda, lime, and muddled blueberries. The cocktail and wine list is impressive and truly creative. I heard tell that they will even serve Dom Pérignon by the glass. The food is super flavorful and decidedly Southern. We started with Turnip and Artichoke Dip and left nothing behind. For the entree, it was the Blueberry Bacon Brie Burger, on ciabatta bread with Grumpy Man blueberry pepper jelly. I still have dreams about that burger. See the full dinner food and drink menu here.
